About Me

As it says on the tin, I’m a middle-aged, middle-class single-mama white girl. My glorious child is also wildly challenging. I like reading, writing, and outdoor movement — walking, cycling, kayaking, cross-country skiing. When I’m not peacefully in the endorphin zone, tackling parenting issues either with the child in question or over coffee with a friend, my mind is busy making connections between various kinds of ideas.

I am one of the privileged of the world, and yet life sometimes feels challenging for me and for many people around me. Given the vast resources of the developed world, this strikes me as inefficient. It also bothers me that the world has enough resources for all, yet many millions of people do not have anywhere near enough. Read my posts to see what I think is going on and how things might be improved.

This blog has several threads:

  • Mothering
  • Home Education
  • The evolution of consciousness
  • My weight loss journey
  • General musings

Please know that I haven’t decided whether to write in British or American English, so for now, it could be either.
